LIFE HAproWINE participates in ‘WineSense Spring School’, training activity on the extraction of polyphenols from wine wastes, organised by the High Pressure Processes Group of the University of Valladolid. This event is part of the Winesense project, European initiative funded by Marie Curie IAAP (Industry Academia Partnerships and Pathways), in which researchers from the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain are working with the aim of improving the recovery of antioxidant substances present in the pressed grape waste and highly valued in the cosmetic industry.

Yolanda Núñez, Environmental Technologies R&D Area Manager of CTME, presented a talk titled “Sustainable development of products”, in which the concept of sustainability in the food products development was introduced. To improve the explanation, the researcher turn to practical case studies in the HAproWINE project, co-financed by the LIFE financial instrument of the European Union.
